Capping the regular season with a personal-best run, Brooke Roy of Cal State Monterey Bay has been selected as CCAA Runner of the Week for Oct. 14-20.
Roy, a sophomore hailing from Camus, Wash., crossed the line at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in 21:56.0 to record a new season- and personal-best time at the 6,000 meter distance. The speedy clip now makes Roy the third-fastest female cross country runner in Otters’ program history.
She finished 83rd out of 204 competitors, as Cal State Monterey Bay ran against a solely Division I field other than the Otters.
Next, runners across the conference landscape converge on Baywood Golf & Country Club to race in the
2019 CCAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday. The women’s 6K opens the day at 9 a.m., with the men’s 8K to follow at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
