Humboldt State's Everett Tabbed for CCAA Weekly Honors
After helping extend the Humboldt State home winning streak to nine, Justin Everett has been named CCAA Player of the Week for Jan. 7-13.
Everett, a forward from Clovis, averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as the Lumberjacks took control of third in the current CCAA standings and pushed their overall winning streak to four games He scored a team-best 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and connected on 60 percent of his shots in Thursday's win over Cal State LA.
Everett then put together a gritty performance with 12 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a pair of assists in Saturday's comeback victory over Dominguez Hills where the Lumberjacks trailed by as many as 17. Everett sparked a second half comeback to open a 16-4 run with back-to-back jumpers as Humboldt State rallied for the 68-67 victory.
Next, the Jacks embark on a Bay Area weekend starting with a contest at Cal State East Bay on Thursday at 7 p.m. Then, they’ll travel to Cal State Monterey Bay for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader.
