Kobie Lockwood's First NCAA Tournament Produces Golfer of the Week Award

SAN RAMON, Calif. –– Stanislaus State’s Kobie Lockwood started his NCAA career with an individual victory en route to CCAA Golfer of the Week for Sept. 19-25. Lockwood is sharing this week’s honors with Josh McCollum of Chico State.

Lockwood, a junior who transferred to the Warriors from Southwestern Oregon Community College, shot rounds of 65, 70 and 73 to rise to the top of the Saint Martin’s Men’s Invite Sept. 21-22 in DuPont, Wash. Hailing from Crescent City, Lockwood’s 208 tally was three strokes better than his closest competitor, Chase Carlson of Colorado Christian, as the Warriors took third in the team standings.

After a two-week hiatus, Stanislaus State next plays in the Dixie State Regional Preview in St. George, Utah, on Oct. 15-16.
