Cal State San Bernardino's Roman Rewarded as CCAA Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. –– After scoring the lone goal in Friday’s victory, Cal State San Bernardino’s Fabian Roman has been named CCAA Player of the Week for Sept. 17-23.
Roman, a senior from Corcoran, helped the Coyotes hand San Francisco State their first loss of the season on Friday, striking in the 67th minute in what would prove to be the only goal of the contest. In a midweek showdown against CCAA preseason favorites, Cal Poly Pomona, Roman added an assist to tally three total points on the week as Cal State San Bernardino cruised to a 3-0 victory.
Following up last week’s nod for Danny Ortiz, this marks the first time in the last 12 seasons where Cal State San Bernardino has earned back-to-back weekly awards from the conference. The Coyotes are now riding a four-match winning streak.
The Coyotes cap a six-match homestand this weekend, playing host to Chico State on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a Saturday afternoon match against Stanislaus State.
