UC San Diego's Horwitz Repeats as Weekly Award Winner
SAN RAMON, Calif. –– Crossing the line as UC San Diego’s top runner for the third-straight meet, Triton Elijah Horwitz raced to CCAA Runner of the Week for Sept. 17-23. This marks consecutive weekly honors for the sophomore from San Francisco.
Horwitz placed second overall and first among all CCAA runners at the CSUSB Coyote Challenge, where athletes got a taste of the 2018 CCAA Cross Country Championships course. He finished with a time of 25 minutes and 14.3 seconds, only three seconds behind the first-place finisher, Tucker Cargile from Redlands.
The Tritons earned third place in the team standings, and Horwitz has now led UC San Diego’s contingent to the finish line at three meets of the season.
