Mary Reilly Dazzles Her Way to Weekly Acclaim

SAN RAMON, Calif. –– After a pair of dazzling performances on the pitch for UC San Diego, Mary Reilly netted CCAA Player of the Week for Sept. 10-16.

Reilly put on a show for the No. 2 Tritons, scoring five of UC San Diego’s eight goals during a perfect start to their CCAA title defense. The senior striker from Chula Vista struck for four in Friday night's 6-1 romp over Cal State Monterey Bay, notching a first-half hat trick over a span of 19:27 en route to matching the best single-game output of her college career. Reilly's fourth from close range made it 5-1 in the 60th minute, as she only was on the field for 50 minutes on the night.

She then opened the scoring in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Cal State East Bay, in the 11th minute of action. The haul for the week moved her from a tie for 11th all-time in the program history book, to sole possession of seventh, now at 39 career goals. Reilly currently leads the CCAA in shots, goals and points.

Next, UC San Diego hosts Cal State San Marcos in a Southern California showdown Saturday at 7 p.m.
