Ndoto Strong Claims Season's Final Weekly Honor May 1, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Cal State San Marcos junior Ndoto Strong lived up to his last name this week en route to the men’s track and field season’s final California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Athlete of the Week for April 23-29. Hailing from Marysville, Wash., Strong wrapped up the regular season at the UC Irvine Steve Scott Invitational with a record effort. He recorded a lifetime-best discus throw of 49.51 meters to improve on his school record for the Cougars. His mark was good for seventh in the event, and Strong also finished seventh in the shot put. Just 0.16 meters shy of the NCAA Provisional mark in the discus, Strong will have one last opportunity for improvement; all 13 institutions from across the CCAA will converge on Turlock as Stanislaus State hosts the 2018 Men’s & Women’s Track and Field Championships this weekend.
