Warriors Sweep Weekly Baseball Awards for Second-Straight Week Apr 3, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — For the second straight week, Stanislaus State has swept the weekly baseball awards as Jack Large and Joe Ryan have been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player and Pitcher of the Week for March 26-April 1. CCAA Baseball Player of the Week Jack Large, a sophomore from Modesto, was one of the many offensive stars for the Warriors as the team outscored Cal State San Bernardino 50-10 in a four-game road series. Large homered in three of four games and went 7-for-14 on the weekend with nine RBI, a double and five runs scored extending his hitting streak to eight games. Large finished with two multi-hit games, and two of his three home runs came in the first inning of action. All told he hit .500 on the week with a .529 on-base percentage and a 1.214 slugging percentage against the Coyotes. His 15 strikeouts is the most by a Stanislaus State pitcher in the CCAA era as the senior from San Anselmo earned back-to-back Pitcher of the Week awards and his fourth of the season. After a leadoff single, Ryan got the double play, and then retired 12 of the next 13 batters before a Mando Rodriguez double in the fifth. Ryan would then sit 14 of the final 17 Coyotes in order to finish the game. After a leadoff single in the bottom of the ninth, Ryan put an exclamation mark to his start by striking out the side.
