Two Former CCAA Champions Take Weekly Awards Apr 17, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Familiar faces return to the weekly award winners, as Cal State LA’s Khallifah Rosser and Lane Andrews of Chico State earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Track and Field Athlete of the Week for April 9-15. CCAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week For the fourth time in 2018, Cal State LA’s Khallifah Rosser has raced to CCAA weekly honors. The senior from Fontana finished first in the 400 meter hurdles at the Cal State LA Twilight Open turning in a time of 49.97 seconds to outpace the field. Rosser, who holds the nation’s best mark in the event regardless of division, is one of only two men to break the 50-second barrier in 2018 (David Kendziera, Illinois). Rosser, the 2016 CCAA 400 meter hurdles champion, also helped the Golden Eagles 4x100 relay team to the win on the weekend, as the foursome rounded Jesse Owens Track in 41.15. Andrews’ 6,917 is the top tally in the CCAA this season and is currently eighth in the NCAA Division II. The senior from Antelope won three events and had a top-two finish in eight of the 10, finishing first in the long jump (6.53 meters), 400 meters (50.91 seconds), and 1,500 (4:31.05).
