UC San Diego Duo Earn CCAA Men's Track and Field Weekly Accolades Apr 10, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — After a productive weekend at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, a pair of UC San Diego men have been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week for April 2-8. CCAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week UC San Diego senior Paul Doan continued his remarkable season last weekend, finishing first in both the men’s 100 and 200 meter dash at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. Doan set a new school record in the 200, crossing the finish line in 21.10 seconds, which is also a provisional qualifying mark. Racing in the 100 meters, Doan crossed the line in 10.55 s to edge the second-place finisher by just 0.02 seconds. In addition, Doan led the Tritons 4x100 team to a second-place finish with a time of 41.02. This is Doan’s second honor of the 2018 season. Hailing from Seattle, Shimasaki’s height is good for a provisional qualifying mark in the NCAA Division II Championships.
