Roberts, Mack-Talalemotu Named CCAA's Track and Field Athletes of the Week Mar 20, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Humboldt State senior Annie Roberts and San Francisco State junior Destiny Mack-Talalemotu produced outstanding results at the Hornet Invitational to earn California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Track and Field Athlete of the Week for March 12-18, respectively. CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week Humboldt State senior Annie Roberts finished first in the 5,000 meters at the Hornet Invitational with a time of 17:13.75, outpacing 50 competitors in the race. Her mark ranks third all-time in the Jacks’ record book, and earned the Kingston, Wash., native a Provisional B qualifying mark.. She beat out her closest competitor, Sacramento State's Gracie Albano, by more than 11 seconds (17:24.86). The Long Beach native placed second in hammer throw with a program-best 57.02 meters, which stands as the fourth-farthest mark in the NCAA Division II. Her second-place finish in shot put was also another program-high mark and the top distance in the country at 14.79 m. Rounding out her weekend, Mack-Talalemotu finished fourth in discus with a mark of 50.32 m, the nation’s top mark.
