SAN RAMON, Calif. - After helping the Jacks to their third consecutive victory, Humboldt State sophomore Tyla Turner has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 29 - Feb. 4.

The guard from San Bernardino put together outstanding back-to-back performances, averages of 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 assists as the Jacks ran their streak to three with wins over Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay.

She scored a team-high 23 points and shot 53.8 percent from the field Friday to knock off the Pioneers in overtime, 76-73. Then, Turner notched a double-double with 18 points and a season-best 12 rebounds in Saturday's victory over the Otters.

This is Turner's second CCAA weekly honor of the season, and her career, after also earning accolades for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
