Jonathan Nichols Tabbed as CCAA Player of the Week Feb 6, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — After a banner night for the the Cal State Dominguez Hills guard, Jonathan Nichols has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The Harbor City native yet again reached new heights in his scoring figures with a career-high 36 points in a 104-98 victory over crosstown foe Cal State LA on Saturday. The 100-point plateau was reached for the first time since a 106-97 win over Pacific Christian in 1995. Nichols shot 63 percent from the field against the Golden Eagles and sunk eight of his 13 attempts from distance, one triple shy of the Toros single-game record. He has started all but one of his 23 appearances and leads the team in points per game (14.4) and assists (71). The Toros take to the road this week, traveling to Cal State Monterey Bay for a Friday matchup and Cal State East Bay on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
