Atiya Harvey, Hanna Steuve Earn 2018's First Track and Field Weekly Honors

SAN RAMON, Calif. — Seniors Atiya Harvey of San Francisco State and Cal Poly Pomona’s Hannah Steuve have earned selection as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the span of Feb. 17-26.

 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
With outdoor track season just beginning San Francisco State’s Atiya Harvey is still rounding the track indoors, to national acclaim. Harvey, a senior from San Francisco, placed second in the 200 meters with a program-best time of 24.06, which is also tied for the second fastest time in the nation.

Harvey also ran a leg in the 4x400 which took first place with a time of 3:41.82 - the fastest time in Division II as well as an automatic qualifying mark - at the Boston University Last Chance Meet. The sprinter was also recently named to the USTFCCCA Indoor Track All-Region team in the 60, 200 and 4x400 meters.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Cal Poly Pomona’s Hannah Steuve placed first in the pole vault out of 22 competitors at the Rossi Relays in Claremont. The senior finished with a height of 3.65 meters, good for a provisional “B” mark.

Steuve’s win helped pace the Broncos to a second place team finish as the meet.
