Brantley Bynum Collects CCAA Player of the Week

SAN RAMON, Calif. — For the second time in three weeks, San Francisco State’s Brantley Bynum has collected California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week. This is Bynum’s third distinction of the season, and the final selection of 2017-18.

The senior from Visalia averaged 18.0 points on 66.7 percent shooting and 5.5 rebounds per game in in a pair of wins for the Gators to close out the regular season slate. In Friday’s contest against second-place Chico State, Bynum scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead San Francisco State to victory. He followed it up with 19 points and seven rebounds against Humboldt State in a Senior Night send off.

The Gators enter the postseason as the No. 5 seed in this week’s CCAA Championship Tournament. First-round action across the league starts tonight, and San Francisco State travels to No. 4 seed Cal State San Marcos with a spot in the semifinals on the line at 7 p.m.
