Mikayla Williams Earns Back-to-Back Weekly Honors

SAN RAMON, Calif. – UC San Diego’s Mikayla Williams has repeated as CCAA Player of the Week to open the 2018-19 season.

The junior from Meath Park, Saskatchewan, continued her impressive start to the season over the weekend, averaging a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds with four assists per game in victories over Western Washington and Seattle Pacific.

Williams finished with 20 points on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting along with eight rebounds and four assists in an 83-72 road win against Seattle Pacific, one day after posting 20 points with 12 rebounds and four assists in a 79-72 neutral-site victory over Western Washington. Williams is 10th in the nation in scoring, averaging 24.8 points per game.
This marks the fourth conference weekly honor for Williams, and third consecutive, dating back to 2017-18’s final week of the season.

Williams and the Tritons open CCAA play Saturday, hosting Chico State at 5:30 p.m.
