Oshita Scores CCAA Player of the Week Nov 20, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. – A career-high week for UC San Diego’s Christian Oshita has earned the senior from Torrance CCAA Player of the Week honors for Nov. 12-18. Oshita poured in a career-best 35 points with an eye-popping nine three-pointers to score the most points by a Triton since 2008 as UC San Diego defeated Saint Martin’s 96-69 last Monday. Oshita hit 13 of his 16 attempts from the field, shooting 81.3 percent in the game. His nine triples is second-best in NCAA Division II in the early-goings of the season. Over the weekend, he added a 20 point effort in an overtime loss at Point Loma, also leading the team in offensive production. Tapped for honors once in 2017-18, this is Oshita’s second CCAA career weekly award. The Tritons are slated to start CCAA play today, hosting Cal State San Bernardino for a 7 p.m. contest.
