SAN RAMON, Calif. – After opening the season with a pair of victories and a career high, UC San Diego junior Mikayla Williams has been tapped as CCAA Player of the Week for Nov. 5-11.

Hailing from Meath Park, Saskatchewan, Williams begin the year with a 25-point, 12-rebound effort in a season-opening 75-70 win over Simon Fraser. She turned around to lift the Tritons to a 76-64 victory over Hawaii Pacific on Saturday, dropping in a career-high 36 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Not only was her scoring voluminous, her accuracy was top-notch, shooting 63 percent from the floor (24-of-38) with a 13-of-15 effort at the free throw line. Twice named Player of the Week in 2017-18, including in the final week of the season, this marks the third conference weekly honor for Williams.

UC San Diego heads to Seattle for the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic where they’ll play Western Washington Friday at 1 p.m., followed by a contest against host Seattle Pacific Saturday at 5 p.m.
