SAN RAMON, Calif. – After two teammates tied for third at the fall’s final event, Cal State Monterey Bay duo Elis Svard and Edward Hackett share CCAA Golfer of the Week accolades for Oct. 24-31.

Svard, a junior from Sodertalje, Sweden and reigning CCAA individual medalist, used a final round that included seven birdies to vault 15 spots up the leaderboard at the Dennis Rose Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii.. The third-round score of 67 was the best individual round of the day, helping the Otters remain in sixth in the team standings.

Hackett’s route to a 213 total score included rounds of 72, 70 and 71 on the King’s Course. The senior from Santa Clara and CCAA Newcomer of the Year from a season ago notched his fourth career Top 10 effort and lowest three-round total as an Otter.

Now, winter break awaits the Otters, as the team returns to action at the Fujikura Invitational Feb. 4–5, 2019 at the Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista.
