Shea Vavra Races to CCAA Runner of the Week Oct 9, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. – After leading the Cal State San Marcos contingent for the first time this season, Shea Vavra has been tabbed as the CCAA Runner of the Week for Oct. 1-7. Vavra, a sophomore from Escondido, joins women’s runner Lisa Flora in earning weekly honors. Interestly, Flora and Vavra attended the same high school. Vavra placed 19th out of 282 runners at the Lewis Conference Crossover in Romeoville, Ill., with a mark of 25:16.4 in the 8,000 meter race. As a team, the Cougars finished 11th in the stacked field that featured four in the Top 10, and eight in the Top 20, nationally. Next up, Cal State San Marcos hosts the Cougar Challenge on Saturday.
