Damion Lewis Nets Season's Last Player of the Week Award Oct 30, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. – Reigning CCAA Defensive Player of the Year Damion Lewis helped Chico State claim the No 3 seed in the postseason brackets en route the final CCAA Player of the Week award of the year. Lewis, a goalkeeper from Miami, Fla., was as good as ever as the Wildcats won twice via shutout to earn a home match in the 2018 CCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament. Lewis collected six saves in a 1-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos Thursday, and four more Saturday in a 2-0 win against 17th-ranked UC San Diego, including two spectacular saves off shots from Triton Brett Jones in the regular-season finale. The senior entered Saturday's match ranked fifth in the nation in save percentage, sixth in shutouts, and seventh in goals-against average. And with his sixth shutout in the Wildcats' last seven outings, he moved him into second place on Chico State's career list in shutouts (22) and wins (30). The Wildcats play host to the Tritons today in the first round of the postseason.
