Kelley Sullivan Captures CCAA Golfer of the Week Award
SAN RAMON, Calif. – In a preview of the 2019 NCAA Championships course, Chico State’s Kelley Sullivan tied for third individually to earn CCAA Golfer of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2. The weekly conference honor is the fourth of his career.
The senior from Sammamish, Wash., shot a 1-under 207 in three rounds on Cobb Course at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W. Va. Following an even-par round of 71 Monday morning, Sullivan shot 66 in the afternoon to move into contention for the title. Tuesday, he carded a 1-under par 70 and finished just two shots off the lead, tied for third with Barry’s Jorge Garcia, the 2018 NCAA Championship runner-up.
As a unit, the 12th-ranked Wildcats finished seventh in a 17-team field that featured six of the top 20 teams in the nation.
Next up for Sullivan and the Wildcats is a trip to St. George, Utah, for the Division II West Region Preview, hosted by Dixie State at the Ledges GC Oct. 15-16.
