After Upending the No. 1, Hamlin Hits Hard for CCAA Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. – After lifting Cal Poly Pomona to an upset of the nation’s No. 1, senior Kristen Hamlin has earned CCAA Player of the Week for Oct. 8-14.
Led by Hamlin’s 17 kills on .571 hitting, the Broncos notched the 3-1 victory over Cal State San Bernardino in the squad’s lone game of the week, handing the Coyotes their first loss of the year in CCAA paly.
The senior from Redondo Beach also served up two aces and recorded two blocks in the match. This is Hamlin’s second Player of the Week award of the year, and the third of her career.
The Broncos look to continue their homestand success this week, as Cal Poly Pomona hosts Cal State East Bay on Friday and San Francisco State Saturday for Dig for a Cure night. Both matches are slated to start at 7 p.m.
