Two Game-Winners Earn Mary Reilly Weekly Acclaim
SAN RAMON, Calif. – With a pair of game-winners on the week, UC San Diego senior Mary Reilly has been named CCAA Player of the Week for Oct. 8-14. This is Reilly’s second weekly award of the 2018 season.
Reilly, a senior from Chula Vista, scored No. 10 UC San Diego’s only two goals of the weak in a pair of 1-0 road triumphs for the Tritons. After notching the decider at Cal State San Bernardino with less than three minutes to play in regulation, she followed it up with the lone goal at Cal Poly Pomona Saturday, also a second-half strike.
Reilly continues to be alone atop the CCAA statistical chart in goals (10), points (20), game-winning goals (five) and shots (71). She now has 43 goals and 105 points for her career, both fifth all-time at UC San Diego.
The Tritons return home to host Cal State LA Friday, followed by an afternoon matchup with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday.
Also nominated:
Stephanie Busch, Cal State Monterey Bay
Caitlin Gharibeh, Cal State San Marcos
