Jason Intravaia Runs to CCAA Weekly Award
SAN RAMON, Calif. – Helping Chico State to a resounding win against a bevy of Division I opponents, Jason Intravaia has been selected as CCAA Runner of the Week for Oct. 8-14.
The senior from Danville raced to a fifth-place finish at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, breaking toe coveted 24-minute barrier for the first time in his collegiate career. Intravaia covered the eight-kilometer course in 23:59.0, finishing behind only three Division I competitors and teammate Eddie King. Saturday marked his second straight top-10 finish.
Demonstrating their team strength, King and Intravaia helped the Wildcats to 53 points, outracing a 20-team field comprised primarily of Division I squads. Showcasing the depth of the Chico State team, the men also took the top podium spot in the day’s open division race.
The Wildcats take to the course for the final time before the 2018 CCAA Championships on Saturday at the Triton Classic in La Jolla.
