Team and Individual Titles Lead DaLeo to Golfer of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. – After picking up her first collegiate team and individual titles, Sonoma State freshman Megan DeLeo has been selected as CCAA Golfer of the Week for Oct. 3-9.
Hailing from Plano, Texas, DaLeo fired rounds of 72 and 76 at the Western Washington Invitational to take the top spot of the leaderboard on the par 73 course at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. DaLeo carded the lone eagle in the tournament, finding the bottom of the cup in three at the 428-yard, par-5 ninth hole on the first day of competition.
DaLeo outpaced her closest competitor, teammate Sabrina Virtusio, as the 1-2 punch from the Seawolves helped the squad to an eight-stroke advantage in the team standings.
DaLeo and the Seawolves take to the course next on Oct. 22-23, as the team hosts the Sonoma State Fall Invitational at Foxtail GC in Rohnert Park.
