Morgan Greene Garners CCAA Player of the Week Jan 9, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Cal State East Bay forward Morgan Greene continued her stellar sophomore campaign leading the Pioneers to a pair of victories en route to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 1-7. Greene picked up her CCAA-best 11th and 12th double-doubles of the season after posting weekend averages of 11.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in wins over Sonoma State and Stanislaus State. In Friday’s 58-51 victory over the Seawolves, Greene added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting and collected 14 rebounds. Saturday, the Phoenix native contributed 10 points and 14 rebounds and assisted on the game-winning buzzer beater from teammate Elayshia Woolridge. Greene currently boasts the CCAA rebounding benchmark of 12.2 rebounds per game, good for fourth nationally. After shooting 65.0 percent on the week, Greene boosted her field goal percentage to .549, ranking second in the CCAA. The Pioneers sport a perfect record at home, and welcome in two of its toughest competitors this week.
