Isaiah Ellis Earns CCAA Player of the Week Acclaim Jan 30, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Chico State senior Isaiah Ellis followed up one season-high scoring total with another to claim California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 22-28. The forward from Antelope averages 25.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game as the Wildcats earned two wins in Southern California, running their streak to five games. On Friday, Ellis finished with a season-high 24 points to go along with nine rebounds in just 22 minutes of play against Cal State Dominguez Hills. Saturday, he upped his season-best tally to 26, connecting on 9-of-12 attempts from the field in 27 minutes on the court at Cal State LA. He also contributed seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot in the well-rounded outing. Defensively, Ellis helped the Wildcats hold both opponents well below their season scoring averages. Chico State is back at Acker this weekend, hosting Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday and Cal State East Bay on Saturday for Art Acker Awards Night. Both games are slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
