Kyanna Davis Secures Player of the Week after Upset Victory Jan 23, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — After propelling the Warriors to an upset victory, Stanislaus State freshman Kyanna Davis has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 15-21. Davis, a 5-9 forward from San Jose, scored a career-high 21 points on the road as the Warriors handed UC San Diego their first CCAA loss on the year. Stanislaus State stunned the Tritons, 82-78, and Davis led the way with 60 percent shooting from the field (6-for-10) with two threes and a 7-for-8 effort from the line. The Warriors split the weekend in the Southland, with Davis contributing 13 points in a loss at Cal State San Marcos on Saturday. Davis more than doubled her season scoring clip of just over eight points per game, averaging 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the two contests.
