Morgan Annala Announced as CCAA Volleyball Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. - Sonoma State junior middle blocker
Morgan Annala has received the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week accolade for the week of Sept. 11 through Sept. 17.
The Vacaville native was a dominate force in the middle for SSU last week, lifting the Seawolves to a perfect 2-0 mark that included a 3-1 win over No. 16 Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday.
She had 15 kills and hit .464 to go along with eight blocks in the win over the nationally-ranked Coyotes. On Friday in a 3-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona, Annala added nine kills and hit .692 with seven more blocks. In total, she had 24 kills, hit .537 and scored 15 total blocks, an average of 2.14 per set for the week.
The Seawolves return to action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. road match at San Francisco State.
