Cougars' Taylor Ahearn and Tritons' Jack Larsen Snag Second CCAA Pitcher and Player of the Week Honor
SAN RAMON – Cal State San Marcos senior Taylor Ahearn and UC San Diego senior Jack Larsen earned this season's final California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week awards, respectively, for the week of May 1-6.
CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Ahearn, a right-hander from Santee, took the mound in three of four games against Cal State LA last weekend.
On Thursday Ahearn came in to the game for one inning of relief, facing the minimum with one strikeout. He then pitched 2.1 innings of relief in Saturday opener, allowing just two hits, one walk and striking out three batters.
Ahearn earned his seventh win of the season in Satuday's nightcap. In seven innings he scattered five hits and struck out five.

CCAA Baseball Player of the Week
Four-year senior Larsen had the most productive series of his career to lead the No. 23 Tritons to a 2-1 series victory over Cal State San Bernardino.
Larsen went seven-for-15 (.467) at the plate with seven runs scored and 11 RBI. Compiling a 1.067 slugging percentag and a .600 on-base percentage, Larsen also totaled five walks, three doubles and two homers.
Defensively Larsen handled all 10 chances cleanly over his four starts in right field.
