Broncos' Austin Collier and Cougars' Justin Washington Earn CCAA Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors

SAN RAMON – Cal Poly Pomona's Austin Collier and Cal State San Marcos' Justin Washington earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Apr. 24-30.


CCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Washington recorded a time of 1:53.21 in the 800-meters to pick up a 10th place result at the Steve Scott Invitational this past weekend.

The finish marked the Temecula product's seventh top-10 finish in the event this season. 

Washington also contributed to the Cougars' 4x400-meter relay team's season-best finish of 3:18.27.




CCAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Collier notched an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the Long Jump at the Steve Scott Invitational.

The junior from Berkeley finished third with a leap of 7.23-meters, which also placed him 10th on the CPP's all-time list.
