Chico State's Alex Burkhart and Cal State LA's J'Liyah Miles Tabbed CCAA Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State's Alex Burkhart and Cal State LA's J'Liyah Miles were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 10-16.

Burkhart earned her second-consecutive CCAA athlete of the week nod after earning an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, while also setting a new CCAA record and eclipsing her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays.
The Rancho Cucamonga product finished 15th overall with a time of 10:14.55, topping her previous school mark by nearly seven seconds and breaking the Conference's all-time outdoor steeple record set by former Stanislaus State runner Courtney Snderson (10:14.97) in 2014.
Currently her steeplechase time ranks fifth in Division II.

CCAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Golden Eagles' sophomore, Miles finished second in the long jump en route to an NCAA provisional qualifying mark at the Cal State LA Twilight Open last week.
Her leap of 19.7.25 was a personal best and places her 14th in Division II this year. She also had a personal-best effort in the 100-meters, placing second with a time of 11.85 seconds.
