Broncos' Damani Brown and Wildcats' Derek Morton Tabbed CCAA Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State's Derek Morton and Cal Poly Pomona's Damani Brown snagged California Collegiate Athletic Assocaition (CCAA) Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors, respectively, for the week of Mar. 13-19.

Morton notched an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and a second place finish in the 800-meter run at Saturday's Hornet Invitational in Sacramento.
Competing against several Division I runners, Morton finished with a personal-best time of 1:49.60, just a second short of an NCAA automatic qualifier.

CCAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Brown, a senior from Rialto, finished first in the javelin with a distance of 62.42 meters at the Redlands Invitational on Friday.
His toss places him sixth on the NCAA provisional qualifying list.
