CPP's Calene Morris and HSU's Ariel Oliver Tabbed CCAA Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

SAN RAMON – Cal Poly Pomona senior Calene Morris and Humboldt State senior Ariel Oliver have been selected the California Collegiate Athletic Associaton (CCAA) Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Mar. 6-12.


CCAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Morris finished 11th overall and recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 5,000 meeter run on Saturday at the 2017 Occedental College Distance Carnival.

The Torrance native wrapped up the race with a personal-best time of 17:03.53.

CCAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Oliver snagged victories in the shot put and discus at the Chico State-hosted Wildcat Invitational last weekend.

Her distances of 14.17m (shot put) and 46.33m (discus) were both provisional qualifyers for the 2017 NCAA Track and Field Championships. Oliver leads the nation in the shot put and ranks third in the discus.
