Gators' Warren Jackson and Pioneers' Remy Puou Snag CCAA Basketball Player of the Week Honors
SAN RAMON – San Francisco State junior Warren Jackson and Cal State East Bay senior Remy Puou earned the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Basketball Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 13-19.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Jackson snagged his second player of the week nod in three weeks after leading the Gators to a weekend sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA and to the program's first 22 win season since the 1939-40 season.
The Detroit product went 11-of-17 from the field, including six-of-seven from beyond the three-point line, and was eight-of-eight from the free throw line. Jackson averaged 18 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2.5 rebounds per game.
In Friday's 78-68 win over the Toros, Jackson was stellar on offense, making seven-of-11 shots from the field, including a perfect three-for-three from the arc.
