Chico State's Hunter Haworth and UC San Diego's Jack Larsen Earn CCAA Pitcher and Player of the Week Awards
SAN RAMON – Chico State junior Hunter Haworth and UC San Diego senior Jack Larsen snagged the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, for the week of Feb. 6-12.
CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Wildcat starter, Haworth struck out a career-high 13 batters in just six innings of work to lead the Wildcats to 9-0 win victory over Simpson University on Sunday afternoon.
Haworth allowed just one hit, one walk, and hit one batter during his stellar outing.
The Hollister product missed the Chico State single-game strikeout record by one struck out the first four batters and eight of the first 11 batters he faced. Haworth is the first Wildcat pitcher to strikeout 13 batters since 2007.

CCAA Baseball Player of the Week
Larsen was the No. 24 ranked Tritons top player during a 3-1 non-conference series win against Concordia Irvine this past weekend.
The senior from Mission Viejo hit .429 (6-for-14) with team-highs of six runs, five RBI, and a .714 slugging percentage. Larsen also totaled one double, one home run, two walks, one stolen base, and reached on a hit-by-pitch three times.
Larsen had two mulitiple hit games, going two-for-four and scoring three runs in the Tritons 14-0 win in the series opener and then hitting three-for-three with two runs and two RBI in a 5-4 series finale win.
Defensively, Larsen was flawless in right field with five putouts on the weekend.
