Tyla Turner Takes Home CCAA Player of the Week Honors Dec 5, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Sophomore guard Tyla Turner helped the Humboldt State Jacks to a pair of road victories in league play en route to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week honors for Nov. 27-Dec. 3. The guard from San Bernardino boosted her team to wins of Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal Poly Pomona averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Turner shot 53.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from long range as she the Jacks improved to 3-1 in CCAA play. Turner contributed 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Thursday's win over Monterey Bay and notched her first double-double of the year with 23 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s victory against the Broncos. This week, the Humboldt State begins a four-game homestand which will close out the calendar year. Up first is a Thursday date with Stanislaus State.
