SAN RAMON, Calif. — Sonoma State senior Carly Gill’s performance against the nation’s No. 2 team has earned the point guard from Orinda the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week honors for Dec. 18-24.

With a 13-point fourth quarter, Gill helped propel the Seawolves to an upset of previously undefeated Alaska Anchorage heading into the NCAA Winter Break, tallying a game-hi9gh 16 points in the 68-58 upset victory.

Gill was instrumental in the win, going 11-of-12 from the free throw line with nine makes in the final three minutes of the contest.  The Seawolves snapped Alaska Anchorage’s 25-game road win streak, handing the squad its first regular season loss to a Division II non-conference opponent since 2012.

Sonoma State returns to the court on Jan. 2, traveling to Cal State East Bay for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
