Ethan Alvano Named CCAA Player of the Week Dec 19, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Ethan Alvano’s game-high 34 points in Cal State San Marcos’ lone game of the week propelled his team in victory and earned the senior from Corona California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Dec. 11-17. Alvano hit 12 of his 18 attempts from the field and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the line as the Cougars knocked off Cal State Dominguez Hills, 93-77. Trailing by a point at the halftime break, Cal State San Marcos was firing on all cylindars in the second including Alvano’s 7-of-9 effort to lead his team to the win. He also added six assists and six steals in a game-high 39 minutes on the court for the Cougars. In just his second season in the CCAA, this marks Alvano’s fourth career Player of the Week nod, and second of the 2017-18 campaign. Cal State San Marcos will be back in action today, traveling to take on Cal State LA at 7:30 p.m. in the last contest for both squads before the NCAA Winter Break.
