SAN RAMON, Calif. — After a red-hot start to her senior season, Chico State’s Whitney Branham has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Nov. 13-19.

The West Ranch native delivered one of her finest performances for the Wildcats on Saturday’s conference-opening victory over Humboldt State on ESPN3. Branham went off for a career-high 31 points on 11-of-15 shooting against the Lumberjacks. She swished seven three-pointers and added six rebounds and two assists in the 70-58 victory. Branham currently leads the league in scoring average (26.3 ppg) and free throw percentage (1.000 - 12-for-12), and is second in three-point percentage (.542) with 13 triples through her first three games of the year.

Along with her stellar play on the court, Branham was recently featured in the NCAA’s Champion Magazine, in a profile on playing through spina bifida.

The Wildcats host a pair of games this week, first taking on Holy Names (Nov. 22) and then welcoming conference foe Stanislaus State on Nov. 25.
