Ethan Alvano Scores CCAA Player of the Week Honors Nov 14, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. - After a record-setting weekend, Cal State San Marcos senior Ethan Alvano has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Nov. 6-12. This marks Alvano’s third career Player of the Week award. Last season’s CCAA Newcomer of the Year started the 2017-18 campaign averaging 30 points and 6.5 assists in 34 minutes per game in the Cougars’ season-opening weekend. Alvano poured in a school-record 42 points against Concordia-Irvine, including a 7-of-10 effort from beyond the arc, and added five assists in Saturday’s loss. The previous night, the Corona native added 18 points and eight assists as the Cougars defeated Biola, 84-57, to split the weekend’s games.
