Cal State San Bernardino's Everett Turner and Cal State East Bay's Shomari Harris Earn CCAA Player of the Week Honors
SAN RAMON – Cal State San Bernardino senior guard Everett Turner and Cal State East Bay senior guard Shomari Harris have been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Jan. 16-22.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Turner had an outstanding week to lead the Coyotes to wins over previously-ranked No. 20 San Francisco State and Cal State San Marcos.
In Wednesday's 69-68 upset win over the Gators, Turner scored 12 points. He finished just shy of a triple-double after also pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out nine assists on the night.
Then on Saturday, the Ontario product shot 80 percent (8-for-10) from the field and 56 percent (5-for-6) from three-point range for a team-high 23 points. In addition, Turner totaled seven assists and snagged three rebounds in the 106-100 win against the Cougars.
Overall, Tuner averaged 17.5 points, eight assists, six rebounds. He also had two blocks and two steals on the week.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Harris had two of her best performances on the season this past weekend as the Pioneers went 2-0 on the road against Cal State LA and Cal State Dominguez Hills. With the two wins CSUEB has now moved into second place with Stanislaus State and are just two games out of first place.
Friday against the Golden Eagles Harris scored 29 points, including 17 points in the fourth quarter. She was key in the victory as she sank a game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. She also totaled eight rebounds in the narrow 61-57 win.
At CSUDH on Saturday, the Las Vegas, Nev. product racked up a career-best 30 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists to lead the Pioneers to a 78-68 victory over the Toros.
For the week, Harris averaged 29.5 jpoints, 7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. She shot 47.4 percent (18-for-38) from the field and 45.4 percent (5-for-11) from three point range, while also knocking down 18-of-22 free throws.
