Cal State LA's Gabriel Gentner and Cal State Monterey Bay's Matt Urakami Tabbed CCAA's Pitcher and Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Cal State LA's Gabriel Gentner and Cal State Monterey Bay's Matt Urakami were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 25-May 1.
CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Gentner recorded three saves in three relief appearances to help the Golden Eagles secure a four-game over Southern California rival Cal State Dominguez Hills.
In 3.1 innings of work the junior right-hander faced just 12 batters, allowing just one walk and striking out six Toro batters.

CCAA Baseball Player of the Week
Urakami, a senior from San Jose, had three mulitple-hit games to lead the Otters to a three-game sweep of Cal State San Marcos this past weekend.
On the weekend, he seven-for-13 (.538), including five mulitple-base hits -- four doubles and a home run -- for a slugging percentage of 1.077. Urakami also totaled seven RBI, five runs, two walks, and a stolen base.
Urakami was outstanding in the series opener and finale, hitting five-for-nine with three runs, three doubles, a homerun and five RBI. In the 10-0 finale victory, with bases loaded in the fourth, he connected for his first long ball of the season for a four-RBI grand slam to lift the Otters to an early 5-0 lead.
