Chico State Sweeps CCAA's Weekly Baseball Awards
SAN RAMON – Chico State's Dalton Erb and Ben Gamba were tabbed the Calfiornia Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week after guiding the Wildcats to a significant 3-1 series win over Sonoma State to take over as the Confernece's north-standings leader
CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Erb, a right-hander from North Torrance twirled a three-hit, complete-game shutout, fanned 11 and walked just one batter to lift the Wildcats to a 6-0 victory over Sonoma State in Sunday's series finale.
The junior let the defense behind him work early, offering 11 ground-ball outs in the first five frames. Then he overpowered the seawolves late, striking out nine of the final 13 batters he faced.

CCAA Baseball Player of the Week
Gamba was outstanding at the plate for the Wildcats, hitting seven-for-16 (.438) with four runs scored, four RBI, three doubles, and three walks. His fourth RBI on the weekend was his CCAA-leading 50th of the season, making him the first Chico State Wildcat hitter since 2010 to reach the milestone and ranking him among the program's top-10 in run production.
The senior from Vacaville was outstanding in Friday's opener and Saturday's nightcap, hitting a combined five-for-eight with two runs scored, two doubles, and one RBI.
Defensively, the first baseman committed just one earror in 34 total chances.
