CSULA's Khallifah Rosser and SFSU's Nicole Uikilifi Earn CCAA Track & Field Athlete of the Week Nod

San Ramon – Cal State LA's Khallifah Rosser and San Francisco State's Nicole Uikilifi each claimed their first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association Track and Field honors for action during the week of Mar. 21-27.


Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Rosser set a new meet record and hit the automatic qualifying mark in the 400-meter hurdles Saturday at the San Diego State-hosted Aztec Invitational. 

His winning time of 49.55 broke the meet record of 49.69, which was set in 1983 by San Jose State's Bernie Holloway. Not only does his time give him a ticket to the 2016 NCAA Track and Field Championships, but it also currently the top time among all Division II hurdlers and is No. 2 all-time at Cal State LA.

In addition, Rosser anchored the Golden Eagles 4x400 relay team that finished second overall witha  time of 3:14.58.

Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Uikilifi, a senior from San Bruno, took first in the Hammer throw and fourth in the shot put at the Cal Poly Invitational Friday afternoon.

Her 52.18-meter toss in the Hammer was a provisional qualifier for the 2016 NCAA Track and Field Championships and ranks third int eh SF State record books. In the Shot Put Uikilifi recorded a season-best mark of 12.85 meters.
