Stanislaus' Channing Wilson and Abraham Alvarado Tabbed CCAA Track and Field Athletes of the Week
San Ramon – Stanislaus State swept the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Track Athlete of the Week awards this week with Abraham Alvarado and Channing Wilson being named, respectively, for the week of Mar. 14-20.
Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Alvarado made his first appearance in the 800-meters this season at the Hornet Inviational at Sacramento State on Saturday afternoon.
The sophomore from Atwater won the event with a time of 1:49.47, provisionally qualifying for the upcoming 2016 National Track and Field Championships in late May. The 2015 800-meter national runner-up was less than a second (1:49.00) from puching his ticket to the national race.

Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Wilson, a senior thrower from Turlock, highlighted the Warriors' track and field team Saturday at the Sacramento State-hosted Hornet Invitational.
Wilson's javelin throws were outstanding with her best throw of the coming in at 159 feet, 10 inches, earning her an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Tampa, Fla. in May. The mark of 48.71 meters currently ranks second nationally.
