Golden Eagles Christine Delapina Named CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Cal State LA freshman Christine Dalapina snagged the final California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week award this season after helping the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 weekend and a berth to the 2015-16 Conference Basketball Tournament.
On the weekend Delapina posted averages of 15 points, seven assists, 4.5 rebounds, and four steals. She shot five-for-12 from the floor and was 20-for-21 in free throw attempts.
The Torrance native was stellar in Thursday's significant 76-59 victory over fourth-seeded Stanislaus State, scoring 17 points, which included shooting a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe. She also totaled eight assists, five steals, and four rebounds against the Warriors.
Saturday against Chico State, Delapina added 13 points, while pulling down five rebound and dishing out six assists.
