Cal State LA Center Rikke Fabricius Named CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Cal State LA sophomore snagged the program's first California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors this season for the week of Feb. 1-7.
Fabricius, a native of Denmark, had two outstanding performances last week, helping the Golden Eagles claim victories against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State San Marcos.
Tuesday night against the Toros, Fabricius scored 18 points and pulled down six rebounds en route to a 98-92 overtime victory, which in turn gave CSUDH its first CCAA loss this season.
In Saturday's narrow 59-56 win against San Marcos, Fabricius had another double-digit point effort, scoring 17 points, while also snagging five rebounds and dishing out two assists.
On the weekend, Fabricius averaged 17.5 points on 10-for-22 shooting from the floor and 14-for-17 shooting from the charity stripe. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 blocks.
