Sonoma State's Kylie Kiech and Chico State's Jalen McFerren Tabbed CCAA Players of the Week
SAN RAMON – Sonoma State's Kylie Kiech and Chico State Jalen McFerren earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 5-11.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Sophomore from Rohnert Park, Kiech led the Seawolves to a perfect 2-0 weekend and an improved overall record of 6-2 win wins over CCAA-foes San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
Kiech averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds on the weekend.
In Friday's 66-46 victory over the Gators Kiech shot 56 percent (five-for-nine), which included sinking two from beyond the arch, for a total of 12 points. She also corralled a game-high eight rebounds.
The following night, the guard scored 19 points with the help of a near perfect 11-for-12 effort at the free throw line and pulled down seven rebounds in a one-point victory (68-67) against the Otters.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
McFerren, a junior point guard from Oakland, was key in the Wildcats 200th meeting with Humboldt State on Friday night.
McFerren scored 21 points and matched his career-high with 13 rebounds. He finished five-for-nine from the field, included four-of-seven from three-point rankge, and made seven-of-eight free throws.
